Black History in Haldimand-Norfolk

Haldimand-Norfolk has been a refuge for many seeking freedom, including runaway slaves during the days of the Underground Railroad. The community of Canfield, in Haldimand County, recently discovered graves of a community of runaway slaves who settled there. It’s a reminder that Black history is not separate from, but integral to, Canadian history.
